The Buttered Tin has been a treasured sunny staple for from-scratch-made eats and sweets in Lowertown, St. Paul since 2013.
Our bakers arrive at 3:00am daily and get to work sifting, stirring, and baking to fill our case full of baked sweets. Later in the morning our cooks start prepping the freshly delivered produce and local ingredients that compose our delicious eats. At 6:30am, it's time to grind and brew our unique house blend coffee—we make them in small batches so they are always fresh!
We swing open our doors to greet our customers—visitors and regulars alike—with fresh delicious food at 7am. We are thankful and happy to be part of this wonderful community.
About our founder, Alicia hinze
Alicia Hinze started her pastry career in 2006, attending the Patisserie and Baking Program at Le Cordon Bleu. She has worked with many well-known bakeries in the Twin Cities, as well as for Martha Stewart’s Wedding Magazines’ Contributing Editor Wendy Kromer.
The Food Network invited her to compete on its hit show Cupcake Wars several times with competition-winning results.
